ABOUT THE ARTIST

Creating art is a journey. People usually want to know if I have always been making art, when did I start, was I born with talent, are there other artists in my family? As humans we want stories, and stories have a beginning, middle, and an end. A story needs to have an arch, or it needs to be a “hero’s journey”. Let’s just face it, most of our lives do not unfold like this. However, if we are lucky, someone will make a coherent story out of the fragments of our lives once we have moved on to other realms. But this has not happened yet.
Until then, Southern Utah is the home of my choice. Before living here, I lived in East Germany, the UK, in Las Vegas, and Florida. After moving here and raising children I lived in Malawi, Africa, and in Germany again…However, I keep coming back to “my” red rocks, the landscape that fuels my spirit and my creativity.
Although I have other careers besides art, I do keep coming back to creating. Perhaps this is all there is to know about me as an artist. My life has been about experiences, expressing myself through art, encouraging others to express themselves, and telling visual stories about my own inner and outer journeys and the people I meet while traveling.
